Seller's Description

Original Polish 22 inch x 33 inch Poster for the 1954 Jerzy Zarzycki Drama BALTHASAR’S FEAST, based on the novel by Tadeusz Breza and starring Jerzy Pietraszkiewicz, Nina Andrycz, Olga Sawicka, Kazimierz Wichniarz and Michal Lesniak.

The poster art is by Wojciech Zamecznik (1923 - 1967). Wojciech Zamecznik was a Polish graphic artist, architect, photographer and interior designer. His most notable works are movie and socio-political posters. He created his own, ascetic poster style which was derived from traditional forms of constructivism and Bauhaus. He also designed some remarkable record covers for the label Polskie Nagrania Muza.

The poster is in good unfolded (rolled) condition with minor crinkling along the right edge and a very small repaired tear in the bottom left corner.
