Astrophyllite MM Specimen: Bright Metallic Flashes in Matrix; 13 mm; Russia

This is a nice, small specimen of astrophyllite crystals on matrix mounted in an acrylic MM box. The astrophyllite crystals give off bright golden and reddish metallic flashes against the white matrix as the piece is moved under the light. This piece comes from Siberia's Kola Peninsula in the far north of Russia (I'm guessing inside the Arctic Circle isn't the easiest location for mining). An eye-catching little example.

Photos were taken under natural sunlight with the specimen dry. Specimen is mounted on removeable mineral tack in an acrylic display box.
