Material: 9ct (375/000) Solid Rosey Yellow Gold - thick and lovely design.
Style: Classic Pocketwatch spinning fob set with 2 gemstone intaglios
Gemstones: Oval cabochons of Carnelian and Bloodstone, not engraved.
Age: Antique Early Victorian c1850s
Condition: Good for age, spins well and lovely gold detailing - some small wear (reduced as a result)
Fastening: Fixed thick bale / loop.
Hallmark: Exempt, Old UK 9c asayed and fully tested / guaranteed (see below)

Important info about Victorian jewellery:
Many pieces such as this were made long before the Hallmarking Act came into force and though we have been hallmarking items in the UK since the 1300s this was not the norm until recently.  Many items were handmade by the "family jeweler" and never went off to be assayed.  Anything made pre 1920 does not need to be hallmarked by law.
