Seller's Description
Original 9 1/2 inch x 7 1/2 inch Portrait of ALLAN JEAYES.
Text on reverse: ALLAN JEAYES under contract to London Films. Born in London on the 19th. Jan 1885, he made his first appearance on the London stage in 1906. Has played many outstanding parts in the West End during the past fifteen years but has played in films for the last two years. Has appeared in ‘Catherine the Great’, ‘The Scarlet Pimpernel’, ‘Sanders of the River’, ‘Rembrandt’ and most recently ‘Elephant Boy’ all for London Films, and ‘The Camels are coming’, ‘Drake of England’ and ‘His Lordship’ for other companies. In 1928 he visited America to play the lead with Catherine Cornell in ‘The Letter’. Apart from his film work, he is a writer od short stories, plays and scenarios.
The portrait is in very good condition with a minor crease in the bottom left corner.
