Seller's Description

Original British 11 inch x 8 1/2 inch Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1955 Ralph Thomas War Film ABOVE US THE WAVES, based on the book by Charles E.T. Warren M.B.E. and starring John Mills, John Gregson, Donald Sinden, James Robertson Justice, Michael Medwin, James Kenney, O.E. Hasse as Captain of the German Battleship Tirpitz, Lee Patterson, William Russell, Theodore Bikel, Cyril Chamberlain, Lyndon Brook, John Horsley, William Franklyn and Raymond Francis.

In World War II, the German battleship Tirpitz is a constant menace to Allied shipping, always lurking in the Norwegian fjord. Commander Frazer (Mills) persuades his superiors that the answer lies with midget submarines. A first attempt is foiled by a storm; a second results in the planting of bombs, but the capture of two of the submarines and their crews; while the third is blown up with the Tirpitz.
