Framed horse racing print "A Real Good Thing"
Framed, mounted and glazed horse racing print titled A Real Good Thing. The artist was FINCH MASON, well known for his work in Fores's Sporting Notes and Sketches, an English quarterly magazine published from 1884 through the early 1900s. It contained articles and stories about sports at home and abroad, including equestrian, sailing, hunting, fishing, golf. Each issue included eight-full page lithographic illustrations.
To the lower edge of the print it says London Published October 20th 1887 by Mess. Fores. 41 Piccadilly W.
Previously the property of owner of Morley Street, Forest Sun etc. the late Michael Jackson ( Salehurst Paper Co / Michael Jackson Bloodstock Ltd ) and was one of a number of his racing related items which were auctioned last year at Sothebys in London.
The central image measures 36cm by 28cm and the overall frame is 52cm by 43cm, print as new condition, frame very good condition with odd small surface mark.
