Seller's Description
The idea for the suite came from a projected version of John Gay's "Beggar's Opera." When Gay assembled the music for his "opera" in 1727, he used popular tunes of the day. Frederic Austin in the 1920s and Benjamin Britten in 1948 have been amongst many composers who have been attracted to adapting these melodies to their own purposes.
I. Intrada II. Romanza III. Intermezzo IV. Finale
Score is new/unmarked.
Over the next few months, I will continue listing a large number of scores for orchestra, string orchestra, wind band, and chamber ensembles that I collected over my 40-year conducting career. I will also be listing most of the (700+) books on music and musicians. If you are looking for something in particular, it is possible that I have it. Message me with a request, and it it is in my collection, I will add it to my store.
Shipping can be combined on books and scores. Message me for a combined invoice prior to paying.
Although new to eBid, I've been an seller for MANY years, but their changes are making it increasingly difficult to sell. I have 100% positive feedback (seller name martyrp), so bid here with confidence.
