1954 Eastman U.S. First Day Cover


"Honoring George Eastman, Official First Day Cover authorized by George Eastman House"

The 3 cent stamp has a portrait of Eastman, "Father of Modern Photography"

Postmarked July 12, 1954, Rochester, New York

Used.  The edge was slit open on the side, the flap is partially torn, and the glue on the back has darkened.  

Inside is a card that says "George Eastman Commemorative Stamp.  Kodak is pleased to send this official first day cover at your request.  It comes to you with the company's best wishes."

This was sent to camera store owners by Eastman Kodak.

Eastman was the founder of the  Eastman Kodak company in 1892

The stamp is Scott #1062
