Seller's Description
This set of 4 Indian postage stamps, issued in 1946-47, commemorate the Allied Victory at the end of WWII. Each stamp in the set features the same design, only in a different color and face value. The design features King George VI, a sword piercing a globe, and the word "Victory," which is in essence the essence of the stamps. The four are 1 1/2 Annas (purple), 3 1/2 Annas (blue), 12 Annas (red), and 9 Pies (green). The stamps are 14 Perf, 24.5 X 29 mm in size, photogravure printed on plain paper (photographed design transferred to a glass plate). The four look to be near Mint but closer inspection shows a very LH mark on one of the stamps, so I am listing them as Un-Used LH with nice original gum.
