Seller's Description
In near-mint condition, with some toning of this image, #N-260. No writing or mailing and sharp edges and corners all around. The back of the card, #45525, is imprinted with the "In the Heart of the Blue Ridge" emblem and tells us:
"This view shows an artist's sketch of the Tennessee Valley Authority's Hiwassee Dam, now under construction on the Hiwassee River in the mountains of southwestern North Carolina. The project, when completed, will tower 307 feet above the bed of the stream and will back water 22 miles up the river to the town of Murphy, N.C. It will help control seasonal floods, will aid navigation on the Tennessee River in months of low flow and will provide for the incidental production of electric power."
