"I, Maria Matilda Tayleur, of 3 Dynevor Road, Richmond, in the County of Surrey, Married Lady, do hereby declare the nature of this invention...relates to imrpovements in, or connected with, out-door seats, and has for its object to provide simple, inexensive and efficient means whereby the exposed seats of omnibuses, tram-cars and the like can be covered with a waterproof protecting apron or cover when such seats are damp, whereby a dry surface is provided for the users of such seats to sit upon"
