Summons for Assault to John Alcock of Upper Elkstone, farmer.  "Whereas Information hath this day been laid before the undersigned, one of Her Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the said County of Stafford, by Esther Deaville of Upper Elkstone, in the said County of Stafford, married woman, for that you on the twelfth day of June 187 at the Township of Warslow and Elkstones in the County of Staffordshire aforesaid, did unlawfully assault and beat the said Esther Deaville, aforesaid..."  It has been signed on the reverse by PC Joseph Potts of Warslow as having personally served the summons.  Has been folded.
