A Big Friendly Hi to everyone.

Having heard what a friendly auction site eBid was we decided that this was the only site that deserved to have the opportunity to sell our many surplus collectables that we have to sell due to a forthcoming housemove.

We have accumulated thousands of items over the years and will be auctioning everything from vinyl records to wargaming figures, ceramics to Teddy Bears, CDs to books etc etc etc.

PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR A FEW EXPLANATORY NOTES REGARDING OUR VINYL RECORD GRADING SYSTEM.


VINYL RECORD AND SLEEVE GRADING

All collectors would like to have a lovely mint copy, but for most of us a copy that plays perfectly will fit the bill - We have many records in our collections that have the odd hairline scratch or light surface mark but they still play perfectly and we are quite happy to build our collections in this way - perhaps if we won the lottery we would start hunting down all of those premium priced 'mint' copies.

We always use the Record Collector magazine grading system with some extra refinements to help fully explain the condition of the vinyl and accompanying sleeve.

We will only grade a record as Mint if we can guarantee that it has never been played.

We grade the vinyl both visually and aurally (apart from pop from the eighties onwards which only has a visual grading) - we have found that our customers appreciate the extra information provided.

VINYL GRADING

VISUAL: -

Excellent (EX) - Looks to be blemish free

Excellent- (EX-) - One or two tiny hairline marks

Very Good++ (VG++) - A couple of very light hairlines/surface marks

Very Good+ (VG+) - A few very light hairlines/surface marks

Very Good (VG) - Several hairlines/surface marks

Very Good- (VG-) - Quite a few hairlines/surface marks

Good - (G) - A lot of hairlines/surface marks - please note we only offer rare records in this visual condition.

PLAYBACK or AURAL: -

Excellent+ (EX+) - Plays like new

Excellent (EX) - Very Little Lessening in original sound quality

Very Good+ (VG+) - No Major Deterioration in original sound quality

Very Good (VG) - Plays Well but might have very light background noise during quiet phases of the record. - please note that we only tend to offer rare records in this condition.

SLEEVE GRADING

A correct picture sleeve or company sleeve is an important part of record collecting and we always try to offer this service although a plain sleeve will be used if a correct sleeve in nice condition is not available.

Reproduction (Repro.) - There are many reproduction company sleeves available nowadays and we will use them if no original bag is available. These sleeves will always be new and unused.

Excellent+ (EX+) - Sleeve is as good as new

Excellent (EX) - Sleeve has slight wear and tear

Very Good (VG) - Sleeve has normal wear and tear - This might include light ringwear, light  creasing, a very small amount of staining or a very small tear.

Good (G) - Sleeve has seen better days and might well suffer from any or all of the following - tears, staining, writing, severe creasing, repaired spines or sides. It is very rare that we use sleeves that are as poor as this.
