Some Information About highlandbookcave

Giving you a little more insight into the seller.

We a family business based in Sutherland, in the Northern Highlands of Scotland. We hold a large stock of local history/nostalgia books about all areas of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland (including ROI). In all probability we will have a book about the town, village or city you grew up in. Maybe a book about your old school, college, university or workplace, perhaps a favourite holiday haunt that you remember fondly.

We all like to look back at our past, especially at the happy times, or remember our local area as it was in the last century. And.....we all have a friend or relative who would just love to receive a surprise book of nostalgia......which is why we have our gift service.

***Sending a book as a gift?***

We have an in-house gift wrap service.

We will gift wrap the book for you (in an attractive, appropriate gift paper) and send it (in secure packaging) directly to the recipient. We also enclose a quality gift card......choose from one of the sentiments below (or choose your own).
There are no charges for these services. Just contact us (via 'contact seller') with your instructions. We will confirm the details with you before sending the book.

1) I saw this out of print book and thought of you. I hope you enjoy it.....love (name).
2) Happy Birthday (name), this book is now out of print but I/we thought you'd love it. From (name)

**We do not enclose an invoice unless this is requested.

Sending Out of Print (Used) Books as Gifts
*1) It is perfectly acceptable to give a (used) book as a gift when the book is out of print and new copies are no longer available. This is particularly true when it comes to nostalgia books (books about the town or village you grew up in, or the school you attended, a workplace or maybe your favourite holiday memories). We all like a small dose of nostalgia.

*2) Ideally the book should be in good or better condition (preferably very good or like new). You should be able to see a photo of the actual book in the listing before buying and a description of condition for the actual book for sale.

*3) DISAPPOINTMENT. The last thing you want when buying a used book as a gift is to find out the seller has neglected to mention it's an ex library copy. Check this before buying.
