Please remember that every single book we sell is used. While we do our best to provide good quality books for you to read, there is no escaping the fact that the book has been owned and read by someone else before you.

 

We grade our books into two categories: “Good” and “Very Good”. Here we clearly state what the criteria are for the book being graded in a particular category, so you know exactly what to expect from us. We also carry out several quality control checks before your order is shipped to make sure what you paid for is what you receive.

Very Good
The spine may show minimal creasing

The dust jacket or cover will show only very minor wear at the edges

The pages will be clean and clear

 

The spine may be slightly creased and the edges may be a little bumped

The cover may have signs of reading wear such as minor creases or bumping to edges

If there is a dust jacket it may have small chips at corners and creasing.
 

 

World of Books is based around three core principles: Providing great quality used books at a great price, the ethical disposal of waste and contributing to charity.

 

Started by a group of dedicated book lovers, we appreciate the impact a good book can have - we know the excitement of a new page turner, or the familiar joy of an old favourite. We all like the idea of saving a bit of cash, so when we found out how many great quality used books there were out there, we just had to share the love! All of our books are checked for quality before they go on sale, and we like to think our prices mean that no book is beyond your budget!

 

At World of Books we are committed to the environment, and to ethically dealing with waste. We currently save over 12,500 metric tonnes of books each year from going straight into landfill sites, and all of our paper waste is recycled within the UK and turned into corrugated cardboard. We believe that it is a travesty to simply throw a used book away when there's nothing wrong with it – we at least want to give someone the chance of giving it a new home!

 

Each year we contribute to several major charities within the UK, both directly and in terms of savings on waste disposal. We are very proud of the charities we work with, how our efforts help improve the lives of millions, and how we help add valuable research data for many grave illnesses.

 

 

We only accept Paypal payments, and request that buyers pay immediately after winning an item.

 

 

We aim to process and ship your book within 3 days of you placing your order. All of our books are sent out via Royal Mail 2nd Class delivery, and arrival is usually within 5 days of the dispatch date to the UK Mainland.

 

Although most of our packages arrive within 5 days, please allow 10 days after your item has been dispatched for the post to arrive – if the item still hasn't come after this time contact us and we can sort out any issues you have.

For International delivery our estimate varies according to your destination, so please allow for a longer delivery time between 7-14 working days.

 

 

 

At World of Books we take customer satisfaction very seriously. If for any reason you are dissatisfied with your order please get in contact with us and we'll do whatever we can to help.

 

If the item is faulty in some way then we will of course accept a return and pay all costs. If the item matches the description in the listing, but is not quite what you expected then we will gladly accept a return, but we request that the buyer pays the return postage costs.
