Jenny Wren Book Gradings

Books will be graded Book/Dustwrapper (if present) e.g. VG/G

Fine:  In excellent condition, with no obvious faults.

Near Fine: Approaching Fine, but with a minor blemish.

Very Good: A collectable copy with minor signs of previous ownership or storage which might include: lightly bumped/rubbed corners; toning, light thumbing or occasional foxing to pages; neat dedications to endpapers. The dustwrapper might be price-clipped with minor edgewear.

Near Very Good: A better than average copy with several minor flaws which might include: tanning or light foxing, occasional small   mark, crease or nick to pages.  The dustwrapper might have small chips and closed tears with light marking or sunning.

Good: An average secondhand copy with obvious signs of previous ownership or storage which might include: bumped/worn corners; slight slant to spine or bow to boards with hinges just starting to weaken; browning, marking, creasing, neat annotations or small tears to pages. The dustwrapper might be rather grubby or creased with uneven sunning, chips, tears or minor losses. 

Fair: A reading copy with complete and legible text but with major defects which might include: missing endpapers; cracked hinges; slack binding; staining, untidy annotations or colouring to pages. The dustwrapper might have large tears with significant loss or staining.

Postcard Gradings:

Excellent: No obvious flaws

Very Good: A collectable card which may have minor handling and ageing defects such as light corner wear or album impressions.

Good: A card with more obvious defects such as light creasing, rounded corners or minor postal damage.

Fair: A card with significant defects such as creasing, staining or small tears with possible cancellation marks to image.
