This issue contains excerpts from a sermon by Bishop Clemens August von Galen held on 13 July 1941 in which he protested the closure of Catholic institutions and the lawlessness perpetrated by the Gestapo. It was Galen’s fearless sermons delivered from July to August 1941 that earned him the nickname ‘Lion of Münster.
