A Unique Programme Of Events Held In 1915 At The "Queens Theatre London." THE WOMEN'S VOLUNTEER RESERVE AND GIRL GUIDES MATINEE FOR THE CANADIAN RED CROSS THURSDAY JULY 15th 1915 AT 2;30 O'CLOCK
A notable event for many reasons including a speech given by Lord Baden-Powell The Programme is Signed/Autographed by the President of Canada Sir Robert L Borden and numerous Candian military celebrities of the time. Including; Sir Samuel Hughes - Minister Of Defence Major General Sir Sam Steele (Commander Of The 2nd Canadian Division Who Also Served In The Boer War And Was One Of The First Memebers Of The Canadian Mounted Police). And Many Other Officers Of The General Staff etc.

The original cloth bound And Embroidered protective folder measures approximately 27cm by 20cm The programme itself consists of an outer card cover with an applied central, thick, card full colour plaque bearing the details of the event to the front and another full colour landscape plaque applied to the rear cover. Stapled (rusty) inside is a four page programme of events, mentioning the patrons of the event and bearing a printed line drawn illustration drawn by Sir Baden-Powell. The programme is held in the embroidered folder by a central silk strip. The 'autographs' page in loosely inserted in the central part of the programme and is also held in place by the vertical silk retainer of the embroidered folder. The 'autographs' page also bears another printed illustration by Baden-Powell. Additionally, an open out black and white photograph of the Canadian Second Division staff is also present in the folder. Very good general condition throughout with some light foxing present.
