Original U.S. 27 inch x 41 inch 1-Sheet Poster for the 1987 Lindsay Anderson Drama THE WHALES OF AUGUST, based on the play by David Berry and starring Bette Davis, Lillian Gish, Vincent Price, Ann Sothern, Harry Carey Jr., Frank Grimes, Margaret Ladd, Tisha Sterling, Mary Steenburgen, Frank Pitkin and Mike Bush.
Two aged sisters reflect on life and the past during a late summer day in Maine.

Philip Castle was born in 1942 in Yorkshire and studied at the Royal College of Art. He is most widely known for his airbrush creations of the iconic posters for Stanley Kubrick's Clockwork Orange and Full Metal Jacket, not to mention Ken Russell's The Boyfriend, Tim Burton's Mars Attacks and Jack Nicholson's Goin' South.
