This sale is for a 1987 edition of the book, "The Cat and the Cuckoo" by Ted Hughes and illustrated by R.J. Lloyd. This book was published by Sunstone Press and either printed in Exeter if you believe the book or Bideford if you believe the online information. The design is a hardcover with original cloth with what looks like gold coloured gilt writing. 

This book is a rare find as not only is it a first edition, but it is one of only 2,000 copies of this edition printed by Sunstone Press. Of these 2,000 copies, 250 numbered copies were signed by both the author and illustrator. Unfortunately, the one being sold here is not one of these copies. 

The overall condition is excellent. There are no markings on any of the pages, there are no missing pages, there is no foxing and the front and back rear covers are in excellent condition apart from a few scuffs, and there are no loose pages. This book also comes with the original dust cover. 

Please note, on the page after the one attached to the front cover is a hand written dedication (not sure if it is written in pen or pencil) which says "Larinna and Tony. Happy Christmas 1987. With love from us all. John and Sue, Rowwe and Hugh." There is also can old price and some sort of code written on the same page though these are in pencil.
