Seller's Description

Made between 1861 and 1920 this glass paperweight advertises the London & Lancashire Fire Insurance Company.  Founded in 1861 it changed its name to London & Lancashire Insurance in 1920.

 

The frosted shield has the lettering in clear glass and is the same as the fire insurance plaques attached to houses of the period.  The shield is slightly recessed around the lettering which is the same height as the base.

 

In good used condition without any serious chips or scratches.  It does have some surface marking due to age and use.

Height.   Aprox.1.5 inches.
