Original 1970s 10 inch x 8 1/8 inch Black & White Still of BUSTER KEATON & ALAN MOWBRAY in the 1940 Edward F. Cline Comedy THE VILLAIN STILL PURSUED HER, based on “The Drunkard”, a 19th-century prohibitionist play by William H. Smith.
In this melodrama, the evil Cribbs (Mowbray) hatches a plan to steal Edward's (Richard Cromwell) pretty wife (Joyce Compton) away from him by transforming Edward into an impoverished drunk. However, Edward gets help from friends Healy (Hugh Herbert) and William (Keaton) and sets out to foil Cribbs' sinister plans.
