Vilagarcía de Arousa is a municipality in the province of Pontevedra, Galicia, Spain, in the region (comarca) of O Salnés. In 2011 it has a population of 37,903 inhabitants, so it is the nine largest town in Galicia.^[1] It is located on the ria of Arousa and it is 45 km south of Santiago de Compostela.

It is bordered to the north by Arousa estuary, to the east by Catoira, Vilanova de Arousa to the west and the Caldas de Reis to the south.

The present site of Vilagarcía has been occupied since prehistoric times.

Vilagarcía de Arousa has one of the largest exhibition centers in Galicia, FEXDEGA.
