Original French 47 inch x 63 inch Poster for the 1959 Alberto Cavalcanti Romantic Comedy VENETIAN HONEYMOON (LES NOCES VENITIENNES)(LA PRIMA NOTTE), based on the novel by Abel Hermant and starring Martine Carol, Vittorio De Sica, Philippe Nicaud, Claudia Cardinale, Marthe Mercadier and Jacques Sernas.
A man of few scruples, the barman Alfredo, decides to steal the jewels of Isabella de Santos, a billionaire.
Poster art by Jean Mascii. Mascii was one of the most prolific French film poster artists of the second half of the 20th century creating over 2,000. He was born in Italy in 1926 his family then settled in France in 1932. He began work designing cinema facades and designed his first film poster for La Dame D'Onze Heures starring Paul Meurisse in 1947. He died in Paris in 2003.
The poster is in good to very good folded condition with tape and paper strengthening on the reverse.
