Original 1878 6 5/8 inch x 5 1/2 inch engraving titled THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME
A rough terrier sitting up on its front paws to left outside a kennel, looking upwards, a snail approaching its empty water bowl in the left foreground.
Engraved by Charles George Lewis (1808 - 1880). Line, stipple, mezzotint engraver and etcher. Best known for his numerous engravings after Edwin Landseer (from 1837).
After Edwin Landseer (1802 - 1873). Sir Edwin Henry Landseer RA was an English painter and sculptor, well known for his paintings of animals – particularly horses, dogs, and stags.
