Dear WORKBASKET Reader:
Each year the summer issues of The WORKBASKET feature Christmas items suitable for fundraising activities or for friends and family. By publishing these instructions early you’ll have plenty of time to complete your projects before the busy holiday season. Just don’t forget where you’ve hidden these treasures when the holidays do arrive.
In this issue you’ll find ornaments to decorate a tree or fancy packages. Select from crocheted, tatted or sewn ornaments. Here’s a great idea — make one ornament every Christmas for each youngster in your family. By the time they are grown and ready for their own home, they will have a collection of ornaments with fond memories of past Christmases.
For the children on your gift list there is a toy to knit arid a menagerie to sew; there’s a hiking/ski boot to hang on the mantle for your outdoorsman; holiday decorations for the home that are worked on plastic canvas; and even an afghan for your special aunt.
So, get out your needles, hooks and shuttles and be ahead of the holiday rush.
