Few could deny that Charles Hamilton was one of the great school story writers, if not THE greatest of all time.

Writing mainly under the pseudonyms of Frank Richards and Martin Clifford his work appeared continuously for over 30 yerars in those famous Fleetway magazines, THE MAGNET and THE GEM. Most famous of all, was his immortal character Billy Bunter, the Fat Owl of the Greyfriars Remove: along with those other boyhood heroes Harry Wharton & Co., whose exploits in THE MAGNET delighted generations of readers from 1908 to 1940.

The war unhappily saw the end of THE MAGNET, but the post-war years witnessed the return of the Greyfriars stories in other formats.

However, nothing quite captured the evrgreen magic f the original MAGNET. So here, for the first time, are presented faithful facsimiles of those well-loved papers.

Each voluime will contain a complete series. In this the first, we follow the adventures of Billy Bunter and his friends in the land of the Pyramids.
