Seller's Description
THE IRON DWARF FORGE
Please note this is a solid fuel forge that runs on coke or charcoal and not on gas
I have designed this solid fuel forge so it can be packed away when not required but can be assembled in minutes with the minimum of tools
a 17mm spanner for the two tue bolts
a pair of 13mm spanners for the plenum chamber
all parts are avaliable from me including undrilled cast iron tue ( or drilled to your requirements ).
air hose by the metre
an air amplifier to enable the forge to run from a compressor.
different length legs, the standard ones fit inside the tray with everything else for storage.
If you want info about blowers that suit this forge contact me for details
This forge is 2' (aprox 60cm ) square and 6" ( aprox 15cm ) deep but I can make any variation on this forge for you based on the same components so for example you could have one with two tue's and plenum chambers allowing for a bigger fire or a small one by the operation of the two ball valves,
some of the main points about this forge are its compact size specially when packed away, its long life cast iron tue with spares easily avaliable, its controlability and its choice of air supply. for info about an air amplifier to enable use on a compressor just ask. a choice of bar rests that clip on the sides of the forge ( one of which is included with it ) or a tong rack
I also make 2 types of hood to fit this forge
assembly
stand the tray on edge with the front upwards ( there are 2 small holes in the bottom of the front of the tray ) and fit the legs,
place the plenum chamber on the underside of the tray with the 2, 8mm bolts through the holes that are now at the top and do them up finger tight.
stand the forge up and carefully place the cast iron tue so that the holes line up,
reach under the tray with the m10 bolts and do them up into the tue by hand then tighten them moderatly with a 17mm spanner, next tighten up the 8mm bolts at the front.
move the forge to the location you want to use it in and then line the bottom as required with either 3/4" of sand or some prefer to use quarry tiles or other old ceramic tiles to protect the bottom of the tray from excess heat. the air supply can be from a workshop vacuum cleaner or a suitable blower or even from a compressor and using the ball valve you will find you can control it quite easily.
what you get
a forge tray,
a plenum chamber,
a cast iron tue,
4 legs,
1 metre of air hose,
a ball valve,
all required bolts,
and the choice of a bar rest that hooks on the side of the forge for supporting long pieces of work or a tong rack
any questions?
IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE SEND ME A MESSAGE AND I CAN GIVE YOU ANY INFORMATION YOU NEED ABOUT THIS OR OTHER ITEMS I MAKE AND MAYBE I COULD TELL YOU WHERE IN THE COUNTRY YOU COULD SEE ONE IN USE IF YOU WANTED.
I can post this to most places in England at the stated rate for 48 hour delivery or it can be collected in person from my workshop or at any event I go to.
places considered as 'off shore or highlands' by the carriers I use may take a day or two longer and may cost more, please contact me if in doubt.
please note this is a solid fuel forge that uses coke or charcoal, you will need to line it with sand or similar, also you need some sort of blower or air supply to run it.
if you have any questions free to ask, if you are local you can come and see one in use.
there are several events where I will be doing demo's
also a friend organises forgework courses, ask if you want more info
these can be seen working in person at my place by appointment.
for more info contact me.
ASK IF YOU NEED INFO ON USING YOUR OWN BLOWER OR IF I HAVE ANY AVALIABLE
ONE OF THESE FORGES CAN BE SEEN WORKING AT MY PLACE BY ARRANGEMENT.
IF COLLECTING IN PERSON I DO NOT TAKE PAYPAL, CASH ON COLLECTION ( paypal themselves say it is unsafe )
I am happy for items to be collected and paid for by cash or I can arrange delivery by carrier I do quite often travel to other parts of the country so it may be worthwhile asking if I have plans to go in your direction in the near future.
you can join here and it is free!!!!!!!
