TG T G Green Cornishware RICE STORAGE JAR c1920s Earlier Gresley England Church Mark  Cornish Ware

This piece was manufactured in the old T G Green factory in Church Gresley.  The base shows the earlier Gresley Church Mark with England, not Made in England, showing a 1920s item which is reflected in the curvier shape of this jar with the strong shoulder line.

  Condition:   No chips, cracks or crazing to the main body of the jar, some surface scratching from being used. As expected for the period there are some air bubbles and grit specks in the glaze from manufacture, and the glaze finish is a bit uneven near the bottom in the lowest blue band.  The colour is bright and clean and the top rim smooth except for where there is a tiny firing fissure and the glaze has not fully taken. 

 To the base some very light browning/dirt in the unglazed foot rim.  Lid is the right shape for this period with the smaller knop.  Dust specks in the top.  To the underside is a chip which has been previously repaired, but doesn't show at all when the lid is on.  Pictures are of the actual item you will receive please examine them carefully as they form part of the description.

The final packed weight of this item should be in the 1.75-2kg price band and the box will be less than 90cm total dimension.
