Seller's Description

CHAU2061 This is surely the ultimate autograph opportunity for any Tetjus Tugel collector.  It is for a hand written card sent from the artist on 28th July 1966 written on both sides with his signature at the end of the passage and with the card comes the original envelope it was sent him from Tetjus Tugel's Post Besdahl German address from the 1960s - On the front of the envelope (please see image 2) it has been fully hand written by Tetjus Tugel too.  You will never get a better autograph listing than from the artists private address on his official paper of the era and both these items are absolute mint condition.  Please see all images.

Painter, poet, musician and bonvivant, Otto Tetjus Tugel was trained at the Hamburg school of applied arts.  He became the central figure of expressionist painters in Worpswede, but also was co-founder of the Hamburg secession. His rich pictorial language changes between soft verves and crystalline structures referring to cubism, later it is dominated by a neo-mannerist design vocabulary.
