The item bears a full set of Birmingham 1929 (E) sterling silver hallmarks.
In addition to the distinctive "D&F" manufacturer mark for;
"Deakin & Francis Ltd."

​As far as I am aware Major Briscoe DSO served in both the Boer War and WWI.
He was awarded the DSO in 1916.

Very good general condition.
Just a few knocks and dimples commensurate with use.
