Original 1893 5 3/8 inch x 4 inch Engraving titled STATUE OF THE REPUBLIC AT THE WORLD’S FAIR, CHICAGO.
Engraved by C. Dietrich
From a drawing by Herbert Edward Butler (1861 - 1931). A landscape & figure painter and an illustrator, and a member and exhibitor at the Ipswich Fine Art Club 1883. In 1892 he married Sophia Rowett Pond at Liskeard in Cornwall and in 1893 went to Chicago, where their eldest daughter, Alice was born in 1894.
