Text from the free encyclopedia WIKIPEDIA may appear below to give a little background information:
*************
Saint Aubin is a port in the Channel Island of Jersey. It opens out to a bay of the Gulf of Saint-Malo.
Originally a fishing village[1] at the opposite end of Saint Aubin's Bay from the town of Saint Helier, Saint Aubin is now the hub of the parish of St. Brelade. Its name refers to Saint Aubin of Angers.
The parish hall is housed in the former railway station.[2] The Railway Walk, a trail following the route of the former railway to La Corbière, starts from Saint Aubin.[3]
Saint Aubin's Fort (49°11'03?N 2°09'41?W? / ?49.1843°N 2.1614°W) lies in the bay, just outside the harbour. This fort is accessible on foot, at a low tide, via a causeway. It is built upon a rocky islet, and features a tower keep which is surrounded by granite walls and ramparts.
The church of St Aubin on the Hill is located uphill from the harbour.
