Seller's Description
Original British 11 inch x 8 1/2 inch Double-Sided Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1960 Jack Cardiff Drama SONS AND LOVERS, based on the novel by D.H. Lawrence and starring Trevor Howard, Dean Stockwell, Wendy Hiller, Mary Ure, Heather Sears, William Lucas, Conrad Phillips, Ernest Thesiger, Donald Pleasence and Rosalie Crutchley.
The son of a working-class British mining family has dreams of pursuing an art career, but when he strikes up an affair with an older woman from the town it enrages his jealous mother.
On the reverse is the 1960 Ken Hughes Biographical Drama THE TRIALS OF OSCAR WILDE, based on the book "The Trials Of Oscar Wilde" by Montgomery Hyde and starring Peter Finch, Yvonne Mitchell, James Mason, Nigel Patrick, Lionel Jeffries, John Fraser, Sonia Dresdel, Maxine Audley, James Booth, Emrys Jones, Lloyd Lamble, Paul Rogers, Ian Fleming, Laurence Naismith, Naomi Chance as Lili Langtry and Meredith Edwards.
At the height of his fame, Oscar Wilde angers the Marquis of Queensberry by having what is (correctly) believed to be a romantic relationship with Queensberry's son Lord Alfred Douglas ("Bosie"), who is twenty years Wilde's junior. When Queensberry slanders Wilde, the artist decides to take the matter to court and brings about his own downfall.
The Trade Advert is in very good condition.
