Seller's Description

Original 10 inch x 8 inch Still of VIRGINIA McKENNA, BILL TRAVERS & LESLIE PHILLIPS in the 1957 Basil Dearden Comedy THE SMALLEST SHOW ON EARTH, written by William Rose.

The still is by Norman Hargood

Text attached to reverse: ”THE SMALLEST SHOW ON EARTH”, a Ralph-Dearden production for Launder and Gilliat, stars Virginia McKenna, Bill Travers, Margaret Rutherford, Peter Sellers and Bernard Miles. Taking a light-hearted view of the film industry, the British Lion release tells how a young married couple, Virginia McKenna and Bill Travers, inherit the Bijou Kinema, affectionately known among the inhabitants of a North Country town as the Fleapit.
DISAPPOINTMENT. Matt and Jean (Bill Travers and Virginia McKenna) try to hide their disappointment about their legacy, as they are shown the gloomy interior of the Bijou Kinema, by their solicitor Robin Carter (Leslie Phillips) in “THE smallest SHOW ON EARTH.”
