Original British 11 inch x 17 inch Trade Advertisement from Kinematograph Weekly for the 1954 Joseph Losey Thriller THE SLEEPING TIGER, based on the novel by Maurice Moiseiwitsch and starring Dirk Bogarde, Alexis Smith, Alexander Knox, Hugh Griffith, Patricia McCarron, Maxine Audley and Glyn Houston.
Although credited at the time to Victor Hanbury, an undistinguished B-picture filmmaker, The Sleeping Tiger was, in fact, the first British film of Joseph Losey, whose promising Hollywood career had been cut short when he was blacklisted during the McCarthy era.
