Original British 30 inch x 40 inch Quad Poster for the 1959 Clyde Geronimi Walt Disney Animation SLEEPING BEAUTY, based on the story by Charles Perrault.
After being snubbed by the royal family, a malevolent fairy places a curse on a princess which only a prince can break, along with the help of three good fairies.
The poster artwork is by A. “Jock” W. Hinchliffe.
Hinchliffe was born in Perth, Scotland. In 1953 he had a studio in Chalk Farm, North London, where he produced a series of six oil paintings as publicity for 20th Century Fox’s “The Robe”. He had been engaged by Fox in 1926 and produced posters and ads continuously for them, and for Disney, well into the 1960s.
The poster is in very good folded condition with a couple of edge nicks and 2 minor cross fold tears.
