Simplicity sewing pattern S9849, for Misses' dress. This pattern is an authentic reproduction of an original 1950s design, with added size options and cutting layout.
Difficulty Rating: Average.
Empire-line dress has short kimono sleeves and neck band to which upper edge of bodice front is softly pleated. Pleated section crosses right over left at neck edge. Dress has back neck zipper opening. View 1 has flared skirt; View 2 has sheath skirt with back pleat. Both skirts are fitted with waistline-darts and shaped to a point in front; cut straight in back at upper edge.
Suggested Fabrics: Broadcloth, Chambray, Cottons, Cotton Blends, Linen, Pique, Rayons, Shantung, Silk, Synthetics, Taffeta. View 1 also in Peau de soie, Satin. View 2 also in Crepe, Jersey, Wools. Interfacing: Lightweight Sew-in (optional).
This pattern is available in a choice of two size
combinations; H5(6,8,10,12,14) or U5(16,18,20,22,24).
