Original 1872 6 1/2 inch x 9 7/8 inch coloured print titled TRITICUM JUNCEUM. SAND COUCH-GRASS.
Triticum junceum, commonly named sand couch-grass, is a species of grass in the family Poaceae. It is found in Europe and temperate Asia, and grows from rhizomes. They have a self-supporting growth form and simple, broad leaves.
Drawn by John Edward Sowerby (1825 - 1870). A British botanical illustrator and publisher born in Lambeth, London.

Third Edition Published in London in 1872 by by Robert Hardwicke, 192 Piccadilly.
