Original circa 1914 12 1/8 inch x 9 1/2 inch Etching titled THE SABOT SHOP

Dutch women standing outside a thatched building looking at clogs, man seated on front steps.

Signed with monogramme and dated (1881) in the plate.

Drawn and Etched by Mortimer Menpes (1855 - 1938). Menpes was an Australian-born artist, author, printmaker and illustrator.

From “Modern Etching and Engraving: With Examples by Leading Artists” by Basil Hansard published as part works by Virtue & Co., 7 City Garden Row, City Road, London circa 1914

Image size 10 inch x 7 inch

The etching, on thick wove paper, is in very good condition with an embossed library stamp in the lower left corner border. Reverse side blank.
