Not just another 'bulk standard' first day cover!  This one comes with a full provenance!

Back in the day when Royal Mail issued these commemorative stamps, I was Postmaster at ROWLY , near Cranleigh, Surrey. I was responsible for the Post Office and Village Newsagent/Stores, and my wife, daughter and I lived 'over the premises' - next door actually - in Rowly House.

With each issue of commemorative stamps, I created my own First Day Cover, addressed to my daughter at home next door! Our postie picked it up from me with the daily last collection, and it was delivered back to us next day, nicely postmarked at the (then) local Royal Mail sorting office, 9 miles up the road at Guildford.

So this one's UNIQUE.  It's been in our family collection ever since - never before traded.

(By the way, we sold the Post Office/Stores in 2004 - unfortunately it closed just a couple of years later).
