Original 1985 Polish 26 1/4 inch x 38 inch Poster for the 1982 Zifeng Ling Chinese Drama RICKSHAW BOY (LUO TUO XIANG ZI), based on the novel by Lao She and starring Zongxiang Guan, Gaowa Siqin, Bide Yan, Fengyi Zhang, Ziyue Zhao, Li Tang and Yin Xin.

Rickshaw Boy tells the story of a peasant who toils for three long years in order to reach the Chinese capital. Finally arriving at his destination and setting up his own business, the young man finds that his turmoil is still far from over, for the class distinctions of ancient China are still too strong to be broken, even for love.

Poster art by Wieslaw Walkuski. Walkuski was born in 1956 in Bialystok, Poland. He started his graphic design education at the Warsaw Academy of Art which he attended for 5 years, during the period 1976–1981. He has more than 200 posters to his name and he continues his work as a poster designer, an illustrator and a painter.
