*RARE* W M THACKERAY "HENRY ESMOND" KILBURN BON MARCH EDITION ANTIQUE BOOK (P3)
Great *RARE* antique fiction fine binding book by William Makepeace Thackeray. No publication date but also unusually, it seems to have been published by W Roper & Co & The Kilburn Bon Marche. William Roper owned the Kilburn Bon Marche large drapers shop in London then branched out into selling ladies fashion etc. So do not know if this was printed for an advertising promotion or something like that as I cannot find any information regarding books and Kilburn Bon Marche. The drapers and fashion shop was renamed Kilburn Bon Marche in 1876 so this book must date to around or after that date. Photo 5 shows that the title page is partially detached and that has impacted on the text on the left of the following page (see photo 6) but binding and other pages inside are in great condition especially as the book is around 140 years old.
Measures 18.5cm tall x 12.5cm wide x 2.5cm thick. Weighs 350 grams.
