Rare Antique 19th Century Chinese Bronze Scholar Horse Sculpure

This is a RARE Antique 19th Century Chinese Bronze Scholor Riding Horse Burner Sculpture. This lovely 2 piece antique bronze sculpture is of a scholarly wise man (Toba) on a horse carring a sutras innhis hand, wearing a hat on his head. Has some scrathes due to people putting the scholar on horse. Approx measurements 12" x 13" x 3.5"

A TOBA - is a member of a totar people ruling northern China from the 4th to 6th centuries.

A SUTRAS - are a genre of ancient and medieval Indian texts found in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism... In Buddhism, sutras, also known as suttas, are canonical scriptures, many of which are regarded as records of oral teachings of Gautama Budda. They are not aphoristic with repetition. Most of Mahayana sutras, which number over two thousand, were written between 200 BLE and 200 LE, the period in which mahayana Buddism was developed. Different divisions of Mahayana Buddism emphasizes different sutras, but some texts, like the Lotus sutras and heart sutra are important to the branches of Mahayana.
