Great *RARE* antique leather hardback book from 1864 by James Anthony Froude on the history of England from the fall of Wolsey to the death of Queen Elizabeth I covering:

• Scotland and Ireland
• Solway Moss
• The French war
• The peace of Crepy
• The invasion
• The death of Henry VIII

Volume 4 only. Photo 3 shows that the back cover is missing. Photo 4 shows the lovely marbled design on the page edges. Photo 18 shows some pen writing and a private home library label on the inside cover. Photos show that some pages have light foxing but binding and most pages inside are in superb condition especially as the book is 160 years old.
