Original British 17 inch x 11 inch Trade Advertisement for the 1944 H. Bruce Humberstone Musical Comedy PIN-UP GIRL, based on a story by Libbie Block and starring Betty Grable, John Harvey, Martha Raye, Joe E. Brown, Eugene Pallette, Dorothea Kent, Hermes Pan, Doris Merrick, "Skating Vanities", and Charlie Spivak and His Orchestra.
Lorry Jones, a secretary, decides to use her imagination to liven up a leaving gala. There she meets George, a brash young marine and the couple are soon engaged.
The advert artwork is by A. “Jock” W. Hinchliffe.
Hinchliffe was born in Perth, Scotland. In 1953 he had a studio in Chalk Farm, North London, where he produced a series of six oil paintings as publicity for 20th Century Fox’s “The Robe”. He had been engaged by Fox in 1926 and produced posters and ads continuously for them, and for Disney, well into the 1960s.
The Advertisement is in very good condition with one vertical centre fold and staple holes along it.
