The 88-storey PETRONAS Twin Towers, headquarters of the national petroleum company, PETRONAS, are currently the tallest twin towers in the world. Located within the Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC), the Towers were designed by the renowned Cesar Pelli & Associates (USA) in association with KLCC architects.The design embodies the culture and heritage of Malaysia by applying Islamic arabesques  and employing repetitive geometries characteristic of Muslim architecture. Standing tall at 452 metres aboce street level, rising with determination yet elegant from the depths of its grand foundations to the tips of its massive 73.5metres pinnacles, the Towers took two years to construct and were completed in 1996. The identical Towers are linked by a 58.4-metre skybridge at the 41st and 42 nd floors, symbolishing a gateway to the future. The double-decked skybridge is 170 metres above street level. By design and engineering, the PETRONAS Twin Towers succeed at acknowledging Malaysia's past and future, embracing the  country's heritage while proclaiming its modernizatio. it is a national landmark and a symbol of Malaysia's progress and achievements as an emerging world-class economy.
