Seller's Description

Original 1784 10 1/2 inch x 8 inch Etching and Engraving titled Perspective View of the Arch under the New River at Bush Hill.

Illustration in the first volume of George Potter's collection of North London topography: View of the Clarendon Arch, in North London; a barrel vaulted tunnel, carrying water from Salmon's Brook below Bush Hill; carved ornamental keystone over arch with inscription "This Arch was rebuilt in the yeare 1682. The Right Honorable Henry Earl of Clarendon being Governor", and above, "The frame and lead was rais'd one foot higher Anno Dom 1725"; illustration to the 'Gentleman's Magazine' 1784.

The engraving is in very good condition, tacked to a backing sheet with slight age-related toning and pencil annotations top and bottom borders.
