Want a hum free valve preamplifier? Lost some screening cans? Once you have your HT power supply smoothed and your heater supply centre tap grounded, those high gain valve preamp stages are still prone to picking up radiated interference and hum straight through the glass of the valves. These spring loaded screening cans fit onto the skirted B9A valve sockets often fitted to high gain valve amps, and also hold your preamp valves firmly in place, especially useful in Guitar combos where the valves "hang" upside down from the chassis.

This is a pack of three plated steel screening cans for ceramic 9 pin chassis mounting B9A valve sockets to suit 9 pin skirted preamp valves such as 12AX7, 12AT7, 12AU7 and 6N1P. (If your amp has non skirted sockets already fitted, we do have a skirted adaptor and screening can that will fit in place of the mounting ring on most common B9A chassis sockets (including ours), allowing you to fit a screening can without having to rewire the sockets, a great time saving upgrade! These cans are ideal for noise/hum reduction in high gain preamp stages in guitar amps and home build projects, or for use in Hi-Fi amps.
