Code US/GB-ZG61A-1944. - Kirchner 7, 103.
‘The famous Passierschein, or safe conduct pass, used by so many German soldiers toward the end of the war, ultimately looked like an old-style government bond and bore the handwritten (facsimile) signature of the ‘Supreme Commander of the Allied Expeditonary Force’. It was actually considered a binding contract on prisoner and captor.’ (Erdmann, J. Leaflet Operations in the Second World War, p. 5).
